WELCOME TO STWG
The Susquehanna Trail Woodworkers Guild was formed in April 2004. The first offical meeting was called to order by our founder, Ray Parsons. Woodworkers were rounded up with the hope of building a strong organization.
Those first meetings were held at the Adams Electric Cooperative Building on Trinity Road in York. In May of 2005 the meeting location was changed to its present location, York County Heritage Trust's Agricultural & Industrial Museum located in York. The museum's educational mission and industrial exhibits are a perfect match for the Guild. We can find inspiration in the machinery and tools that were used in York's great industrial past.
The first newsletter was published in September of 2004 by Mike Galloway. In July of 2005 we hosted a Woodworking Show at the Trust's Historical Society that allowed members to showcase some of their creativity It gave us an opportunity to show, not only to our members, but also to the public some of our members craftmanship.
The Guild is a locally grown organization. We are not part of a larger entity. We have decided, along the way, who we are, where we are headed and what we want to accomplish.
